The Department of Conservation Community Conservation Partnerships Fund - Pūtea Tautiaki Hapori (CCPF) provides funding to community-led conservation groups for natural heritage and recreation projects in New Zealand. The fund, announced in March 2014, has approximately $26 million dollars to distribute to community groups for priority conservation work over four years. In the first year $8.5 million is being allocated across more than 100 community organisations. The fund is directed at practical, on-the-ground projects. These projects will maintain and restore the diversity of our natural heritage and enable more people to participate in recreation, engage with conservation and value its benefits. Projects that may have a transformational impact on conservation growth in New Zealand were also considered. The second CCPF funding round will be in the first half of 2015.
